The Gold tier of my Patreon gives you access to select products, available in the Product Access collection.
While your Gold tier membership (or above) is active, you have the right to use the products within their individual license terms. While some products have more detailed licenses (such as the Studio Friendly License), other products may not declare a license. In general, the following applies:
If the product has a Studio Friendly License, Patreon product access will give you the lowest tier of the license (Independent) during the active period. When your access period ends, your license is rescinded (you may no longer use the product). Any user that wants Studio or Studio (Unlimited) access must either purchase the product independently (Patreon product access does not cover these tiers), or make a payment to Curtis at the current rate for the desired license. There are several ways to do this, feel free to get in contact.
Generally, you may use the content of any product available on the product access to produce both personal and commercial outputs (using them for your own work).
However, assets and content available on the product access must never be redistributed to anyone else under any circumstances. You may not repackage the content, regardless of license, in your own commercial products. The term ‘commercial use’ allows you to create commercial outputs using the content (for example, you may use the content to produce an animation for a client and receive payment), but it does not allow you to take the original product and resell it, with the exception of compiled entertainment mediums such as video games where assets may be obfuscated and inaccessible to the end user.
Please note, if you are doing work for a company and one of the following applies:
The company has access to the assets through files (such as .blend files).
You are an employee of the company.
(Then) Patreon product access does not give you the right to produce content for the company with any products governed by the Studio Friendly License (as only the Independent tier is provided to you). A Studio license (or Studio (Unlimited)) license must be purchased separately. See the Studio Friendly License page for more information.
For products which do not have specific licenses, assume they allow for personal and commercial use (unlimited seat number, unlimited project number), for both independent use, and for studios.
What Happens When My Access Period Ends?
Everything you created with the products while your product access was active will always be valid, even after your access ends! You can tap into the product access, create new content, and then tap out whenever you need. The bottom line is, you only have the right to download, use and create content with the products while the access is active, but anything that was created during those periods is yours forever.
